Forum Focuses on Sustainable Manufacturing

LEXINGTON, Ky. (July 9, 2009) The University of Kentucky Center for Manufacturing will hold a "Forum on Sustainable Manufacturing: Products, Processes and Systems" from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7, in Room 323 of UK's Robotics Building.

The event is designed to precede the inaugural International Congress in Sustainable Manufacturing to be held Aug. 9 through 12 in Cincinnati.

Speakers at the event include Nabil Nasr, director of the Golisano Institute for Sustainability at the Rochester Institute of Technology; Tonya Jackson, director of sustainable technology and operations at Lexmark International Inc.; Jake Barry, director of supply operations for Procter & Gamble Co.; Kevin Butt, general manager for production engineering, environment and safety for Toyota's North American operations; and Todd Rockstroh, a consulting engineer for manufacturing technology at GE Aviation USA.

The speakers will present their ideas during presentations and panel discussions.
