'American Idol' Benefits Kentucky Children's Hospital

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 16, 2009) – The "American Idol" finalists are
in town for the Idle Time concert at 7 p.m. Oct. 16 at Lexington Opera House. Proceeds from the
concert benefit the Kentucky Children's
Hospital and Shirecrest Equine Education Center, Inc. Shirecrest and Lash's Lessons provide
books and toys for children's hospitals and schools.

so fortunate that the 'American Idol' finalists plan to come to Lexington not just to put on a
great show, but to make a difference in our community," said Loralyn Cecil, manager of
community relations and publications at Kentucky Children's Hospital. "We are very
excited, and we want to thank them for their support of our
hospital."
Kentucky Children's Hospital works to improve the
lives and health of children and to provide a more optimistic future for their families. More
than 70 pediatric specialists, 300 pediatric nurses and an impressive number of respiratory
therapists, dieticians, social workers, pharmacists and child-life specialists are dedicated to
caring for children. Each year, Kentucky Children's Hospital admits more than 6,000 children and
serves another 60,000 through emergency care, clinics and outreach
programs.
