LEXINGTON, Ky. (Aug. 18, 2009) – Safe Kids Fayette County recently recognized Van Kirk, owner of Auto Tech Service, and his staff.

"Mr. Kirk has generously donated enclosed business space for two hours the second Wednesday of each month for over a year and a half now, allowing our child passenger safety (CPS) team the ability to host a monthly fitting station," said Sherri Hannan, coordinator of Safe Kids Fayette County.

The Safe Kids program presented Kirk with a plaque acknowledging him and his staff’s support of the Child Passenger Safety program.

"Mr. Kirk was very appreciative and stated he supported our efforts to educate care givers on how they should properly restrain their children and is more than happy to allow us the use of some business space to offer this important service," said Hannan.

"I am honored that Safe Kids is recognizing Auto Tech Service but my staff and I are excited to be able to work with the Safe Kids organization in offering this important service to the Lexington community,” said Kirk.

"The partnership has been hugely successful in that we have able to check over 78 car seats and distributed 36 child safety seats to some of the neediest families in the Lexington area," said Hannan. "Thank you again Auto Tech for being such a strong supporter."
