LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 26, 2009) – The University of Kentucky Institute for Workplace
Innovation (iwin) is partnering with the Kentucky
Society for Human Resource Management (KYSHRM) to offer a series of professional
development webinars for employers throughout the state of Kentucky and beyond over the next
year. The new partnership aims to advance the knowledge of business leaders and human resources
professionals throughout the state by educating employers about innovative workplace practices
designed to enhance business outcomes.
“The Kentucky Society for Human Resource Management is thrilled to collaborate with the Institute for Workplace Innovation team to present a series of low cost, highly effective webinars that provide essential tools necessary for the HR professional to implement organizational strategy that contributes to the bottom-line of businesses in Kentucky,” said Kentucky SHRM State Council Director Trasee Whitaker, SPHR.
The series of webinars will kick-off with “Total Leadership: Be a Better Leader, Have a Richer Life,” led by presenter Stewart Friedman, from noon to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 24. "Total Leadership" teaches leaders and aspiring leaders how to improve performance in every aspect of their lives through a three-step process. Friedman, a world-renowned author as well as a management professor at University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School, is the founding director of its Leadership Program and its prestigious Work/Life Integration Project.
Seminars presented as part of this webinar series will be offered for approximately $75 per session and will be submitted for recertification hours through the HR Certification Institute. Registration deadline for the first webinar is June 23 and is limited to 125 participants.
iwin is a collaboration between the UK colleges of Social Work, Business and Economics and Public Health, and works to educate and engage businesses in the implementation of innovative workplace practices that will make them employers-of-choice, thus helping Kentucky become a state-of-choice. iwin develops and disseminates knowledge about the 21st century workplace to create environments that boost the bottom line, employee health and work-life fit.
