LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 7, 2008) – The Kentucky Parkinson's Disease
Information and Referral Center invites you to attend its first Parkinson's Disease
Treatment Options for Patients and Caregivers Symposium on Saturday, Oct. 11, at the Four
Points Sheraton in Lexington. Nationally recognized Parkinson's disease experts will offer
educational sessions on a wide variety of topics.
Speakers will cover items such as Parkinson's disease diagnosis and management and deep brain stimulation, which is a surgical treatment option. Medication management and speech therapy, as well as physical and occupational therapy will be discussed.
A vendor fair will also be held during the event. Registration begins at 8 a.m. along with the vendor fair and a continental breakfast. The program begins at 9 a.m. and lunch will be provided. The event is free, but pre-registration is strongly encouraged by calling UK Health Connections at 1-800-333-8874.
