Moliterno Takes State's Lead Cardiology Role

LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 23, 2007) UK HealthCare's Linda and Jack Gill Heart
Institute co-director David J. Moliterno assumes a leadership position in the
country’s most prestigious society for heart specialists this week.
Moliterno, chief of cardiovascular medicine at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, will be inaugurated as the American College of Cardiology Governor of the Kentucky chapter for the years 2007-2010. The inauguration takes place at the ACC annual scientific session in New Orleans beginning Saturday.
Members of the ACC Board of Governors serve a three-year term as liaisons between the local chapters and the national ACC organization, the foremost professional society for heart specialists throughout the world. Members include cardiologists, cardiovascular surgeons, researchers, and specialists in a cardiovascular field, and are elected to fellowship based on outstanding credentials, achievements, and community contribution to cardiovascular medicine.
Moliterno, a nationally acclaimed physician, has recruited several outstanding cardiologists from around the United States. The UK Linda and Jack Gill Heart Institute provides comprehensive services in interventional and peripheral vascular cardiology, pediatric cardiology, and cardiovascular and thoracic surgery.
